Pass it On

Hello Everyone! I know I have been pretty silent lately with our recent move to Alabama. I am coming out of hiding to ask for a small favor for my niece, Tiffany. She is a young, single mom who was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation and Syringomyelia. She was diagnosed after she experienced numbness in the side of her body all the way to the tip of her foot. She recently had surgery of the spine/brain and has been told that the numbness in her body will not go away. She experienced extensive damage in her spinal chord.She has a long recovery period ahead of her and she will never be the same. Like many single parents, Tiffany usually works more than one job at time to try to support her family, but she has no savings. We know that the medical bills for Tiff are going to be much more than $3000, but we didn't want to set an overwhelming goal. All of the money raised will go to helping Tiffany in her recovery. Every penny counts. So again thank you. Chiari malformation occurs in the region where the brain and the spinal cord join. In this disorder, the portion of the brain called the cerebellum and/or brain stem lies lower than usual. Often, a portion of the cerebellum called the cerebellar tonsils protrudes out of the base of the skull into the spinal canal. This protrusion causes pressure in the brain, contributing to the symptoms people experience. There are many symptoms associated with CM1—numbness of the limbs, headaches, especially at the base of the skull, dizziness, double vision, weakness in the arms, and/or difficulty walking. When symptoms are present, they are often vague or nonspecific. As a result, the diagnosis of CM1 is often delayed until more severe symptoms present themselves or after milder symptoms persist for some time. Syringomyelia is a condition characterized by a fluid-filled cyst in the spinal cord. Please help Tiffany and her family through this very tough time! Miss Madison {Harrisonburg Baby Photographer}

I had the opportunity to meet and photograph an adorable little 3 month old girl and her parents yesterday afternoon. She was the sweetest, most content little thing. We were even able to get a few sweet, sleepy shots but boy did she make me work for every smile! It was definitely worth it though! Isn't she darling?!

New Year, New Deal!

I wanted to kick off the new year with a great special. Unfortunately, I am just now getting around to getting it posted but it is definitely worth the wait. The idea came to me as I was organizing my families images and deciding what to get printed for our albums (because they are severely neglected and empty). Then I figured that some of your family albums may be in the same condition! Enter the "Fill the Albums" special.

The "Fill the Albums" special is $300 and includes:
    (1) One full session (2 hours of shooting time with 20+ online proofs)
    (5) digital images (with printing rights)
 $300 small prints credit (good for prints 8x10 and smaller)
   40% off of additional prints and enlargements
   Over $700 value!

 The special is in the form of a gift certificate that can be used anytime in the year 2013! Email or call today to take advantage of this great deal available through the end of January!

Since I can't post without pictures, here is one from this fall of my own little cuties! Photobucket

All Smiles {Harrisonburg Baby Photographer}

This adorable family came all the way from Boston for their session! Okay, Okay...visiting family for Christmas may have payed a small part in their trip to Virginia ;) But seriously, they were adorable! And little Kale was nothing but smiles for me. I was glad we got their session in while it was still on the warmer side. I hope you enjoy these sneak peeks! Photobucket Photobucket He has amazing eyes! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Fall Family Fun! {Harrisonburg Family Photographer}

I first met this cute little family when their youngest was a newborn. They brought him to me for his newborn pictures. I can't believe how big he has gotten! This session was originally scheduled for October when Hurricane Sandy breezed though and left us with dreary clouds and rain the entire week of their session. We rescheduled for November and I was a little worried that it would be cold. We were blessed with an unseasonably warm weekend though which made for some great fall pictures! The Colors of Fall {Harrisonburg Family Photographer}

It turned out to be a gorgeous weekend to sneak in a few fall sessions before all the gorgeous color disappeared! I really enjoyed this session. Aren't the views just beautiful? And the family is gorgeous too so I couldn't go wrong! Dad, I know you weren't super thrilled about being paraded through your neighborhood all dressed up but I think it was worth it! Don't you? Autumn Beauty {Harrisonburg Senior Photographer}

I had the pleasure of meeting a fun (and gorgeous!) senior girl on Tuesday for a quick photo session. Don't let the t-shirt and smiles fool you, though the sun was shining it was cold. I know I was freezing by the end of the session and I was wearing a coat. If this girl was cold she did an amazing job hiding it! Thank you for toughing it out for an amazing session! Enjoy the preview! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Choices, Choices {Harrisonburg Family Photographer}

Sometimes I think that the hardest part of the entire photo session process is narrowing down which photos to put on the blog! Especially with a session like this when I love so many of the photos and I want to share them all with you. But I also want to keep a little mystery for the final reveal of photos in the gallery to the family. Choices, choices! This session was a piece of cake with the kids full of personality and willing to do pretty much anything I asked them to. Their mom is also a friend of mine that recently moved to Florida so the session wasn't just business that day. It was the chance to catch up! Enjoy your peek! Photobucket Look who showedup! Absolutely Stunning Senior Girl! {Harrisonburg Senior Photographer}

I had an amazing session with a gorgeous girl on Sunday. The weather was a little sketchy all morning but it cleared up by afternoon and we had awesome light for the session. Senior sessions are always so much fun and this was no exception! Thank you for the perfect session, Shannon! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Ethan {Harrisonburg Newborn Photographer}

I met sweet 2-week old Ethan on Thursday for a photo session. I think his parents were a little nervous about how well he would do but he was awesome! He was wide awake when we started and gave us a few sweet bright-eyed shots. Then he had a little snack and slept soundly for most of the rest of the session! I think we got some really great shots! I hope you enjoy them, Mom and Dad! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket And now, ya'll get to see a little "behind the scenes" work. To achieve some of these shots safely a little photoshop magic is required! I take two photos of the baby with mom or dad keeping a close eye (and a closer hand!) on the baby to ensure they are secure and then merge the good parts of both photos together in Photoshop to create the finished product! A Natural {Harrisonburg Childrens Photographer}

I love it when clients (especially children) are excited about and involved in their sessions! I think it really shows in the final product with beautiful images that reflect who they are, from location, to clothes to poses and facial expressions. This gorgeous little girl from Saturday certainly fit in this category. She mostly did my job for me suggesting poses and locations. She was great! Even the dogs got in on the action and posed like champs! I hope you enjoy the sneak peek! Untitled Photobucket Photobucket

Beautiful {Harrisonburg Family Photographer}

Beautiful day. Beautiful Views. Beautiful family. I had another great session with Hadassah and her family! The family pictures that I got may have been the easiest family pictures I have ever taken. Everyone was so easy to pose and they were full of smiles!Thank you for a great session! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket I love this picture. I have similar pictures of the same pose that are closer to the family and show less of the background but I just love the beautiful vista behind them! I think this image would make a great canvas!
