My dear, sweet, Elissa. I can't believe that you are three already! Time sure does fly. It doesn't feel that long ago that I was walking across the street to hospital in labor with you! You are such an amazing girl and we love you so much!

Eventually (when I have some spare change) I am going to get prints of all of these pictures and hang them on the wall in the hallway. I made little collages out of them just to see how I wanted to arrange them. What do you think?

The big ones are going to be 20x24s and the squares 20x20. I'll have them mounted at the lab so I won't need to frame them. Then you can just velcro them to the wall!
At the moment this posts, Elissa will be two years old. I can hardly believe it. At two years old, Elissa...
* is potty trained (Praise the Lord!)
*sleeps in a big girl bed
*Has quite an impressive vocabulary that grows every day
*speaks in sentences
*Still loves her silkie that she calls her "muah" (insert kissing sound here)
*is as ornery as ever!

you can play (and mope) on the swings...
you can sit on a log in the early morning sunlight as your mom bribes, uh I mean treats you to a piece of halloween candy...
you can ride your powerwheels...
or play in the leaves...
Elissa has a blanket (actually 2) that not only have satin on the edge but covering the entire back of the blanket. We've taken to calling them her "silkies". She carries them around the house and sleeps with them at night. She takes the satin part of the blanket and rubs it on her lips (or hand, or foot, or belly...) all while making these smoochy lips. It is so cute! If she doesn't have her official silkie she will find anything similar and do the same thing. Most recently I found her using the feet of a stuffed fairy for this purpose (her shoes were made from satin)
On a side note, I did the same thing when I was small (although I don't think I made the lips) and even know if I am left holding "silkie" for too long I'll catch myself rubbing it on my palm!

Anastasia slept for almost 10 HOURS straight last night! What a blessing! She has been averaging about 7 for the past week but last night I put her down at 11pm and she didn't get up until almost 9 this morning! I had to go in and check a few times to make sure she was OK! I feel like I could conquer the world today (or at least the laundry) with that much sleep under my belt...lol

Yup, she keeps me busy
Well, actually a walk/scooter ride and boy was it hot! The kids decided to cool off by dipping their feet in this fountain on the way home.
I've been reminded all too often lately of how fast my little ones are growing! First there is Elissa who has been very interested in the potty lately. She always tells us after she goes, sometimes even before. And sometimes in enough time to actually make it to the potty! And is a child too old to wear diapers when the realize as soon as they wet it and then proceed to get a fresh one and try to change it themselves?!
And the way she holds her pencil so precisely while doodling - such a big girl!
And then there is Trinity, behind the desk, working with her dad..lol
And they practice being big sisters..patiently waiting on Baby Girl!
We went to the arboretum to get some family pictures. Unfortunately my remote for my camera stopped working temporarily and I had to put the self timer on, hit the shutter and run. This is the best we could do...
After the picture taking we went for a walk where we saw squirrels and rabbits and Houston found this salamander...
While Chris and the kids went off creature hunting I decided to try and take some maternity pictures of myself. I was attempting to be creative and laid on this wall. I took this one but it wasn't what I was going for.
It was pretty uncomfortable because of one pointy rock under me so I got up so that I could move the rock and try again. That's when I found THIS....
hiding under the rock I had just been lying on! So...I didn't end up getting any good maternity pictures..lol and I was the one who ended up finding the creature even though I certainly wasn't hunting for it!
I set Elissa up on the stump and she proudly said "Cheese!!" She never said that before and it was so cute that she knew I was going to take a picture of her. By now though I guess she pretty much assumes it is going to happen...lol
makes me work hard! She is totally annoyed by the camera..lol The first face she is making is normal as soon as I hold up the camera. Either that or she runs away screaming.
These beautiful flowers arrived on my doorstep for me along with these three little bears - One for each child nestled snugly in their boxes holding a card with the kid's names on them
Thank you Chris! We love you too! (and you can most likely tell by the look on Elissa's face, but we were pretty excited by our surprise :)
